The railway network of southern Brazil faced certain regulatory & compliance challenges for the transport of goods to and from the port cities and interior factories producing grains and fibers. The local regulations would see increased fining of the logistic companies cargo transports when holding up level crossings in the port city states. RUMO logistics wanted a solution outside major infrastructure investments like a light and gate system, and explored a cost effective computer vision solution utilising advanced AI.
A solution was required that removed the consistent fining by the municipality, gave operators an indepth and momentary actionable response and increased safety at level crossings without a traditional light and gate system in place .Through our partner Identify Capacity we delivered a solution that future proofs RUMO vision analytics.

The Odin team and Identify Capacity provided a Smart AI Logistics solution that reduced operational costs for Rumo, tracked traffic activity over a 24 hour cycle, allowing for freight times to be adjusted during peak activity hours. Integration of Alerts and Events generation to a Video Management System (VMS) dashboard, allowing administrators real-time alert management to send operators to resolve issues on track or escalate issues to law enforcement if necessary.
The initial POC of the Odin Smart AI Logistics solution proved a success and plans to be adopted across the rail network in southern Brazil by mid 2025.
We asked the Odin Team to create a Level Crossing Solution as part of compliance with the City & Port Regulations of Brazil based in AI and video. The Odin Team provided a highly accurate and efficient solution that allowed RUMOLog to save costs from municipality fines, Odin Clouds data has enabled RUMO to understand how level crossings are being used overtime better plan freight timing and composition size. We are now utilizing Odin Cloud for a multitude of POC Projects in Video AI".
