Founder POV: Redefining The Security Market
As a founder, I believe the most valuable thing you can bring to a company is a vision of where the market is going — not just where it is today. A clear vision doesn’t just set direction, it fuels teams with purpose, and purpose drives execution beyond what’s possible in companies that are only reacting to the present.
We started Odin as a group of security industry veterans — leaders in R&D, operations, and commercial growth. Despite our different backgrounds, we shared one realization: the industry is shifting, and the tools we relied on for decades were built for a world that no longer exists. It was time to start fresh.
As CEO, it’s my role to turn that shared insight into a vision worth building.
The Problem: Humans as “Organic Interfaces”
Every major product in physical security has been designed for one purpose: to make systems easier for humans to operate. That model worked — our previous company proved it. But we came to a sobering conclusion: operators have become nothing more than “organic interfaces” between digital systems and real-world action.
Here’s how it looks today: a manager asks an operator to pull footage. An operator spots an anomaly and follows a rulebook — escalating to management or authorities. The operator’s “value” comes down to how quickly they can use the system and how well they relay instructions.
Which begs the question: do we still need a human in that role?
The Shift: From Operators to Digital Workers
Advances in AI now allow us to rethink the model entirely. Instead of training people to operate systems, we can design systems that are built for AI agents from the ground up.
At Odin, we’ve reimagined the security platform with two core principles:

Managers will message a digital worker to pull video or escalate an event. Digital agents will engage intruders, notify authorities, and ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
